About the Recipe

Inspired by VAGY girl Lila, a yoga teacher finding her rhythm in Ubud’s lush mornings, this iced matcha latte captures her essence — grounded yet playful, mindful yet open to surprises. With a tropical twist from raspberry syrup, it’s more than a drink; it’s a ritual of self-care and connection.

Ingredients

For the Matcha Latte:

  • 1 tsp ceremonial grade matcha powder

  • 60 ml hot water (not boiling, around 80°C / 175°F)

  • 150 ml plant-based milk (oat, almond, or coconut recommended)

  • 1–2 tsp raspberry syrup (see below)

  • Ice cubes

  • (Optional) 1 tsp agave syrup or honey

  • (Optional) A pinch of vanilla

For the Raspberry Syrup (makes ~1/2 cup):

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 2 tbsp sugar (or agave/stevia to taste, sugar-free is recommended)

1. Make the Raspberry Syrup

In between inbox zero and morning yoga:In a tiny pan, simmer raspberries, water, and sugar on medium heat for 10–15 minutes. Stir with love. Strain through a fine mesh sieve and let it cool. Bonus: store it in a mini bottle in your carry-on — it travels well, just like you.


2. Prepare the Matcha

Grab your chasen (or milk frother if you're in a rush between Zoom calls). In a small bowl, whisk the matcha powder with hot water until smooth, vibrant, and foamy — like a moment of green zen.


3. Assemble the Latte

Fill a clear glass with ice (because you’re probably already warm somewhere tropical). Pour in that beautiful raspberry syrup like a love letter to your inner artist.


4. Add Your Plant Milk

Layer in the oat or almond milk gently. Watch the magic begin — dreamy, soft, layered... just like your current life chapter.


5. Top It with Matcha

Slowly pour the matcha on top to create the iconic pink-white-green gradient that deserves a moment on your Instagram Story. Add edible flowers if you're feeling fancy.


6. Sip with Intention
